PROJECT SIZE AND LAYOUT

The proposed Llanbrynmair Wind Farm comprises 30 turbines and associated infrastructure, such as on site tracks and a control building. Each wind turbine will have a maximum height of 126.5m to the tip of the blade.  The wind farm would be capable of generating 60-90 megawatts (MW) of renewable electricity, depending on final turbine choice.

We have considered a number of different layouts for the wind farm during the evolution of the design. The layout for the 30-turbine Llanbrynmair Wind Farm has evolved from studies and input from experienced environmental, engineering and technical teams within RES. The layout has also taken into account what we have learnt from carrying out an Environmental Impact Assessment on the site.  The proposed layout of the wind farm can be viewed below.
